EV charger installation
A charger in your garage, put in by a Tesla certified crew and a Qmerit Certified Solutions Partner. Anchorage, Eagle River, and across the Mat-Su Valley.
Level 1 or Level 2?
Most people who drive electric every day end up wanting Level 2 at home. Fast DC chargers are the ones at public stations; they aren't something you put in a house.
- What it is
- Level 1:The cord that came with the car, plugged into a regular 120-volt outlet.
- Level 2:A wall charger, or a 240-volt outlet, on its own circuit from your panel.
- Speed
- Level 1:Slow. A few miles of range for every hour plugged in.
- Level 2:Several times faster. For most daily driving, one night puts back what you used.
- Works for
- Level 1:Short commutes, a plug-in hybrid, or a second car that doesn't go far.
- Level 2:Daily driving, longer commutes, cold months, or two EVs in one garage.
- Electrical work
- Level 1:Usually none, though it should have its own outlet in good shape.
- Level 2:A new circuit, and sometimes room made in the panel.
How an install goes
Check the panel
We add up what your house already uses and see how much is left for a charger. This decides how fast the charger can run.
Plan the spot
Where you park, which side the charge port is on, how far the cord reaches, and the shortest clean path from the panel.
Price and permit
You get the price up front. Where a permit is required, we pull it.
Install
We run the circuit, mount the charger or outlet, and set the charger to match the breaker.
Test with your car
We plug in, make sure it charges, and show you any settings that matter.

What if the panel is full?
Turn the charger down
Most wall chargers can be set to draw less. Charging overnight at a lower setting is plenty for a lot of drivers.
Share the power
Some chargers can share one circuit between two cars, or back off when the house is using a lot.
Upgrade the service
When there's no room left, a bigger panel or service makes room for the charger and whatever comes next. More on panel upgrades.
Have these ready
The estimate is free, in person or over a video call. These make it quick.
- A photo of your panel with the door open, and the label on the door
- Where you'll park and charge, and where the panel is
- Your car, and the charger if you already bought one
- Anything else big you're planning: hot tub, heat pump, shop, a second EV
Charging in the cold
Batteries charge slower when they're cold, and a cold car uses more range to heat itself. A charger in the garage helps on both counts. Many cars can also warm up the cabin and battery while still plugged in, so you leave with a full charge and a warm car.
Charging outside? Use a charger rated for outdoor use, mounted where plows, shovels, and drifting snow won't get to it.

Common questions
- Do you install Tesla chargers?
- Yes. We're Tesla certified.
- What about other brands?
- Yes. As a Qmerit partner we work with all the major charger brands.
- Hardwired charger or a 240-volt outlet?
- Both work. Some chargers plug into a 240-volt outlet, and others are wired straight in. Hardwired is often the better choice for higher-power chargers and outdoor installs. We'll go over it with your charger in mind.
- Do I need a panel upgrade?
- Not always. We check what your panel has left first. Often a charger fits, or fits at a lower setting.
- Can you put a charger outside?
- Yes, with a charger rated for outdoor use, mounted where snow and plows won't hit it.
- Do you pull a permit?
- Yes, where one is required. Permits make sure the install meets local building code.
- Do you give estimates?
- Yes, free, in person or over a video call, with the price up front. We do the rest of the home wiring too.
